Network latency and internet connectivity requirements

Maximum latency to the nearest Azure data center	150 ms or less
Recommended internet service availability	99.9% service level agreement (SLA) from the internet service provider (ISP)

Bandwidth considerations

Bandwidth requirements depend on the following factors:

The number of cameras that record or play back video.
Whether recordings are stored locally or in the cloud.
Video playback does not affect the number of cameras that can be viewed simultaneously.

If the client workstation is on the same network as the camera, these bandwidth considerations do not apply.

Federation bandwidth considerations

The number of cameras that can be viewed simultaneously depends on the following factors:


Factor	Impact
Remote site outbound bandwidth	Limits the number of video streams that can be transmitted.
Client workstation inbound bandwidth	Limits the number of video streams that can be received.
Requested video quality	Higher-quality streams require more bandwidth.

Federation video streaming considerations

Cameras at remote sites should support multiple video streams.
Multiple video streams allow lower-bandwidth streams to be used for remote viewing.
Managed devices support only a single video stream.
