About schedules
A schedule is an entity that defines a set of time constraints that can be applied to various situations in the system. Each time constraint is defined by a date coverage, such as daily or weekly, and a time coverage, such as all day or fixed range.
Understanding twilight schedules
A twilight schedule is a type of schedule that uses local sunrise and sunset times to determine daytime or nighttime coverage. It's typically used for video-related tasks that depend on ambient light, such as recording, motion detection, or camera settings. Twilight schedules apply only to entities with a configured location.

Understanding twilight schedules

A twilight schedule is a type of schedule that uses local sunrise and sunset times to determine daytime or nighttime coverage. It's typically used for video-related tasks that depend on ambient light, such as recording, motion detection, or camera settings. Twilight schedules apply only to entities with a configured location.

When to use twilight schedules

Twilight schedules are designed for situations where the sunlight has an impact on the system’s operation, such as video settings and recording.

Common uses for twilight schedules include:

Recording video only during daytime.
Boosting the video encoder’s sensitivity after sunset.
Disabling motion detection during twilight.

Limitations of twilight schedules

Twilight schedules have the following limitations:

They cannot be used in any situation involving access control entities.
The entity the schedule applies to must have a geographical location setting, such as video units and ALPR units.
The Weekly option for date coverage is not available.
The All day and Range options for time coverage are not available.
They are not visible in contexts where they are not applicable.
