To use and manage your Genetec Cloudlink appliance in Security Center SaaS, you must
add it to your system.
Before you begin
- Sign in to the Cloudlink appliance web page and change the username and password.
- If required, apply a static IP to the appliance. For more information, see the
documentation for your appliance model.
- Have the appliance QR code or serial number and activation code ready. You can find this
information on the "Add this appliance to Security Center SaaS" insert card that is
included with the appliance.
Procedure
-
In the Security Center SaaS Configuration task, on the
Devices page, click Add device and follow
the steps in the configuration wizard.
-
If you are adding a Genetec Cloudlink 210 with dual hard drives (GCL-210-M3JA), select
a Storage type:
- Redundant
- Duplicate data across disks to protect against drive failure. This is selected by
default.
- Extended
- Combine disks into one volume for maximum storage. If one disk fails, all
recordings are lost.
Note: To change the storage type after deployment, you must delete
and add the appliance again. Re-adding the appliance erases all data stored on the
drives.
-
Click Add.
After a few minutes, the appliance becomes available in Security
Center SaaS. It is listed on the Devices page, and its Status
shows Online.
