To use cameras that are not direct-to-cloud capable in Security Center SaaS, you must
add them to a Genetec Cloudlink™ appliance.
Before you begin
- Have the camera username and password ready.
- Reset the camera to its factory default settings, unless it is managed by an external
video management system (VMS) and is being added in read-only mode.
- Ensure the camera is on the same subnet as the Cloudlink appliance.
- To use automatic discovery, ensure that WS-Discovery is enabled on the camera and that
discovery is allowed on the local network.
What you should know
- You can't manage credentials for cameras added to a Cloudlink in Security Center
SaaS.
Procedure
-
From the Devices page in the Configuration
task, click Add device, and follow the steps in the configuration
wizard.
The system searches for cameras automatically. A list shows discovered cameras
that aren’t in the system.
-
On the Activation page, select the required cameras and click
Select.
If the list contains many cameras, you can search by camera name or IP address.
Important: Automatic discovery might detect cameras that
aren’t supported in Security Center SaaS.
-
If automatic discovery is not available or your camera is not listed, click
Add a local camera manually.
-
On the Configuration page, enter the required information,
including the device name, credentials, and any required camera settings.
-
If the camera is managed by another video management system, select Read
only.
This option is only available when adding cameras manually.
-
Click Continue, then click Close.
The camera is now available in Security Center SaaS and is
listed on the Devices page.
