Adding Axis Powered by Genetec devices

To manage and monitor your Axis Powered by Genetec device in Security Center SaaS, you must add it to your system.

Before you begin

  • Gather the required information from the Axis Communications: Owner Authentication Key document or the device's web interface:
    • Device serial number
    • Owner Authentication Key (OAK)
  • Ensure the device can reach the required endpoint domains.

What you should know

Adding an Axis device to Security Center SaaS replaces any existing credentials with new credentials that comply with strong password policies. You can view the credentials on the device's Overview page in Security Center SaaS.

Procedure

  1. From the Devices page in the Configuration task, click Add device, and follow the steps in the configuration wizard.
    The device is added to Security Center SaaS. The Status column displays Action required.
  2. Activate the device:
    • If you have physical access to the device, press the control button on the device body.
    • If you don’t have physical access to the device, enable one-click cloud connection in the software:
      1. On the device's web page, click System > Network .
      2. Under One-click cloud connection, set Allow O3C to Always and click Save.
    Activation can take up to 15 minutes. It includes installing the latest firmware and bringing the device online. You can work on other tasks while activation runs in the background.
After activation, the device is available in Security Center SaaS.
