Selecting a PTZ preset

To move a PTZ camera to a previously defined area of interest in the camera view and activate an appropriate zoom level, select a PTZ preset.

Before you begin

Create your PTZ presets.

Procedure

To select a PTZ preset in Genetec Operation desktop:
  1. Launch Genetec Operation desktop and open the Monitoring task.
  2. To display a PTZ camera, double-click or drag it from the area view into a tile.

  3. To select a quick access preset, in the PTZ widget, select the preset that you require.
  4. To select another preset not shown in the quick access presets, in the PTZ widget, click Toggle to advanced mode (). Then select a preset from the Presets list and click Go to PTZ preset ().

    Note:
    In Security Center SaaS, Axis cameras use preset 0 as their home position. After a restart or update, the cameras automatically return to this position.

    PTZ preset functions, including home position, are available only if presets have been configured. For more information, see Creating PTZ presets.

To select a PTZ preset in Genetec Operation web:
  1. Launch Genetec™ Operation web.
  2. In the Tiles view, to display a PTZ camera, double-click or drag it from the area view into a tile.
  3. To select a quick access preset, click PTZ mode (), then select the quick access preset number that you require.

    Note:

  4. To select another preset not shown in the quick access presets, click PTZ mode (), then click Switch mode and click Advanced.

    1. From the Preset list, select a preset and click Run preset.
