Setting user levels

To define which users get priority over the PTZ controls of cameras, you must set the user level of users and group in Genetec™ Configuration desktop.

What you should know

Priority over PTZ controls is always given to the user with the highest level (1=highest). If two competing users have the same user level, the user who requested the stream first is given priority. Once a user gains control over a PTZ camera, that user locks it.

1. From the homepage in Genetec Configuration desktop, click User management > Advanced .
2. From the entity browser, select a user or group to configure.
3. Click the Properties tab.
4. Use the User level slider to adjust the user level.
5. (Optional) To apply user levels to specific areas:
   1. Set the User level option to Override.
   2. Click the Configure user-level overrides button.
   3. Click Add an item ().
   4. Select an area, and click OK.
6. Click Apply.
