Security Center SaaS applies partition member rules as follows:

Entity When added to a partition When removed from a partition
User group or cardholder group
  • All users or cardholders in the group are added.
  • Adding a user or cardholder doesn't add its parent groups.
  • All users or cardholders in the group are removed.
  • Removing a user or cardholder doesn't remove its parent groups.
Cardholder or credential
  • Associated credentials are added with the cardholder.
  • Adding a credential doesn't add its associated cardholder.
  • Associated credentials are removed with the cardholder.
  • Removing a credential doesn't remove its associated cardholder.
Parent or child entities
  • For entities with child entities (such as areas or roles), you can choose whether to include child entities. All nested child entities will be added.
  • For entities with child entities (such as areas or roles), if child entities were included, all nested child entities are removed.
Any entity
  • Adding an entity to a partition doesn't remove it from other partitions it belongs to.
  • There's no limit to the number of partitions an entity can belong to. An entity can belong to multiple partitions.
  • If an entity is removed from a partition and doesn't belong to another user-created partition, it is automatically added to the Genetec SC SaaS partition.
  • You can't remove an entity from the Genetec SC SaaS partition unless it belongs to another user-created partition.
