About the Map Manager
The Map Manager is the role responsible for managing the mapping resources used by Security Center SaaS. It manages map providers, KML objects, default maps, and map objects used as record types. It also acts as the map server for client applications and as the record provider for system entities placed on georeferenced maps.

    Maps provide a visual representation of facilities and geographic locations, allowing operators to monitor entities, respond to events, locate equipment, and navigate the system more efficiently.

    To avoid obstructing important map details, you can adjust a layer’s opacity and set map object icons to automatically scale with the zoom level.

    To navigate between maps quickly, you can designate two or more maps as floors of the same building.
  - Adding map objects
    To make your maps interactive, you must add map objects. Map objects graphically represent system entities, such as cameras, doors, and intrusion detection areas, as clickable objects on maps. They let you monitor and interact with your system without leaving the map.
  - Adding quick actions to map objects
    To let operators trigger an action directly from a map, you can add a double-click quick action to a map object represented by an icon.
  - Adding areas to your maps
    To let operators navigate between maps and monitor occupancy information, you can add areas to your maps and configure them as map links, people-count monitoring areas, or custom map objects.
  - Adding cameras to your maps
    Add cameras to a map so operators can monitor live video, camera events, alarms, recordings, and PTZ activity directly from the map.
  - Adding text, images, and shapes to your maps
    To mark points of interest, represent entities with custom graphics, or create map links, you can add text, images, rectangles, polygons, and ellipses to your maps.
  - Configuring mobile-user visibility on maps
    To display Security Center SaaS Operation users on georeferenced maps, grant Security Center SaaS users permission to view mobile users and enable location sharing on each mobile device.
  - Exporting or printing maps
    To share map information outside Security Center SaaS, you can export the current map view as a PNG, save it as a PDF, or print a physical copy.

Configuring GIS map providers

Before you can create geographic maps in Security Center SaaS, configure a supported GIS map provider.

Procedure

From the Configuration desktop homepage, open the System task and click Roles.
From the entity browser, select Map Manager and click the Properties tab.
In the Map providers section, click Add an item.
In the map provider dialog box, select the provider type that you want to configure.
Supported provider types are:
- Azure Maps (Roads)
- Azure Maps (Satellite)
- Google map
- Google satellite map
- Google terrain map
- WMS
- Custom* (TMS)
Configure the map provider settings.
Click Save and then click Apply.

The selected map provider is available for creating geographic maps in Security Center SaaS.
