Setting a default map for users

To display a specific map when users open the Maps task, set it as the system default map.

What you should know

• The system default map, also known as the global default map, is the map initially loaded for all users when they open the Maps task.
• Default maps configured for individual users or user groups override the system default map.

1. In Genetec™ Configuration, open the System task and click Roles.
2. From the entity browser, select Map Manager and click the Properties tab.
3. From the Default map list, select the map that you want to use as the system default map.
4. Click Apply.

The selected map is configured as the system default map and is loaded when users open the Maps task unless a user-specific or group-specific default map is configured.
