About Clearance in Security Center SaaS

Genetec Clearance™ is an evidence management system that you can use to help accelerate investigations by securely collecting, managing, and sharing evidence from different sources.

Security Center SaaS makes use of Clearance functionality so that organizations can easily share video clips with both internal and external stakeholders.

Manage who can access evidence: Control access permissions so that only authorized users can view, edit, and download the videos.
Access and review evidence from anywhere: Internal and external stakeholders can securely access evidence directly from their web browser.
Ensure evidence remains secure and audit compliant: All files uploaded to Clearance are encrypted, and user activities are tracked with secure audit trails.

All Security Center SaaS customers can use file sharing with a 14-day retention period for an unlimited number of video clips. This file-sharing feature is included in the base Security Center SaaS subscription. Recipients have two weeks to access and download shared files before they’re deleted.

Note:

Although shared video files from Security Center SaaS can be viewed and managed in Clearance, the digital evidence management system is not included as part of the Security Center SaaS subscription.

Notifications

Shared video clip recipients are notified by email from noreply@clearance.network that "A user has added you to a file".

When the View file link in the shared video clip email is clicked, a "Genetec verification code" email might also be sent to the recipient from no-reply-login@genetec.com to confirm their identity.

Existing Clearance customers

Customers who already have a paid Clearance subscription can continue to use all existing features in Clearance. An active Security Center SaaS subscription is needed to use this file-sharing feature in SaaS.

Customers with an existing Clearance account can link their account to their Security Center SaaS system. For more information about how to set up existing accounts, contact the Security Center SaaS team.
