Map creation methods
To create maps that match your environment, Security Center SaaS provides two map creation methods. The method you choose depends on whether you want to represent a floor plan or display entities in a geographic location.
Image-based maps
Image-based maps use a static image as the map background. This method is typically used for floor plans, building layouts, and site drawings. You can also import map objects from AutoCAD drawings to accelerate map creation and maintain consistency with facility plans.

Geographic maps
Geographic maps use data provided by a geographic information system (GIS) service. This method is typically used for campuses, cities, transportation networks, and other environments where equipment must be displayed in a real-world geographic context. Geographic maps can also incorporate map objects imported from AutoCAD drawings.
