Adding intrusion detection areas to your maps

To enable operators to monitor and control intrusion detection areas, you can add the areas to maps in Genetec™ Configuration.

1. In Configuration, open the Map designer task.
2. Select a recent map or click Browse all maps to open an existing map.
3. In the Entities section, click Area view ().
4. Click and drag an intrusion detection area to a location on the map.
   The intrusion detection area is added to the map and its properties are displayed in a side panel.
5. Configure how the intrusion detection area is displayed on the map:
   1. In the Identity section, click Show states, and select the color to associate with each panel state.
   2. In the Position section, use the Width, Height, and Rotation fields to adjust the size and angle of the icon.
6. Configure a double-click action for the intrusion detection area:
   1. Click Configure an action.
   2. In the Double-click configuration dialog box, select a double-click action for the entity, then click OK.
7. Return to the Map designer task and click Save.
