Activating events

Administrators can activate camera events as required on a camera by camera basis to monitor events using a watchlist or the Reports task and can also be used for event-to-action automation.

Before you begin

Add your devices.

What you should know

Camera events can be used to monitor for motion events or object analytics and take advantage of watchlist alerts, reports, or event-to-action functions. For example, Axis Object Analytics (AOA), Axis FenceGuard analytics, or Bosch firearm detection.

1. In Genetec™ Configuration, on the Devices page, select a camera.
2. In the side pane of the camera, click the Settings tab.
3. In the Events and analytics section, select the Show camera events checkbox.
4. Click Save.

   

After you finish

Do one or more of the following:

• Select event types to monitor.
• Monitor events using a watchlist.
• Generate reports about specific events.
