Adding recording profiles

To simplify large-scale camera deployments and ensure consistent configurations across multiple cameras, you can create recording profiles to specify video, storage, and retention settings.

What you should know

You can add up to 37 profiles to complement the default profiles for cloud, appliance, and edge recording.
You can't change the recording location after you create a profile. To modify a camera's recording location, associate it with a profile configured to a different location.

Procedure

In the Configuration task, click Video settings > Add profile .
In the Add recording profile dialog, configure the recording profile to suit your needs:
1. Configure the Resolution, Frame rate, and Maximum bit rate.
2. Select a Recording location relevant to your device type:
  - D2C cameras: Select Camera edge recording or Cloud.
  - Cloudlink cameras: Select Cloud or Appliance.
3. Select a Video retention period.
  The maximum retention period is 1,096 days (3 years).
4. (Optional) To enable SD card failover for cloud connections, select Camera records to its SD card if the cloud connection is lost.
  
  Note:
  This option is always available when adding a recording profile, but is unavailable on cameras that don't support edge recording.
Click Add profile.
