Configuring sensor-specific custom camera settings

2025-04-02Last updated

To configure sensor-specific camera settings for a multisensor camera, you can create a custom settings configuration. Configuring the custom camera settings removes any association with a specific cloud or edge recording profile.

What you should know

Sensor-specific custom settings are typically used when different camera settings are needed for each sensor that aren’t available when using custom camera settings that are applied to all sensors. Performing this procedure activates sensor-specific custom settings and ensures that the selected camera sensors are no longer associated with a recording profile.

Procedure

  1. From the Devices page in Genetec™ Configuration web, select a multisensor camera.
  2. Click the Sensors tab in the side pane.
  3. From the Sensors list, select a sensor.
  4. Click the Settings tab in the side pane.
Note: The sensor Settings tab on a multisensor camera is different to the camera Settings tab because it only displays and applies settings to the selected sensor.
  5. In the Video section, from the Recording profile list, select Custom.
Note: Cameras configured with the Custom settings recording profile aren’t displayed in the Recording profiles list because the custom settings only apply to the selected camera.
    1. In the Video section, customize the settings as required.
      Resolution
From the Resolution list, select the option you require.
      Frame rate

Note: The Camera edge recording location is only available for Axis direct-to-cloud cameras that support SD cards and have firmware version 11.11 or later.
      Video Retention
Select a retention period from the choices available or click Custom to specify a retention period in days. The maximum video retention period is 1,096 days.
