How intelligent search works in a monitoring tile

You can start an investigation and take advantage of intelligent search functions directly from any video monitoring tile. The collected camera metadata varies by manufacturer and the camera's forensic capabilities.

Requirements

Important:
Intelligent search needs a Security Center SaaS Premium Plan.For an overview of the key features and differences between the Standard and Premium plans, see the Security Center SaaS Features Matrix.
You can use a non-forensic-capable camera to start an intelligent search from a monitoring tile. Viewing results beyond the initial search (such as similar people, nearby activity, entry and exit detections, and so on) requires forensic-capable cameras with the Activate camera metadata setting turned on.
Intelligent search functions only for non-federated cameras.

Investigating a subject of interest

When you click Intelligent search (

) in a monitoring tile, a window opens showing a larger video tile and thumbnails of nearby activity. You can then perform the following actions:

Choose a thumbnail of a person or vehicle from the nearby activity. If you select a person, thumbnails of similar people and nearby activity are displayed. If you select a vehicle, thumbnails of entry and exit detection and nearby activity are displayed.
To investigate a person in the camera's view, draw a box around them. Thumbnails of similar individuals and nearby activity are shown.
To examine a vehicle, object, or area of interest within the camera's view, draw a box around it. Thumbnails of entry and exit detection and nearby activity are shown.

Note:

When you draw a box around a subject of interest, you can click Show trajectories to display how people and vehicles moved within the camera's field of view. For more information, see How visual trajectory works in Security Center SaaS.
