Adding cameras to a Genetec Cloudlink appliance manually
2026-07-28Last updated
To connect a camera when automatic discovery is unavailable, you can manually add the camera's connection information to a Genetec Cloudlink appliance.
Before you begin
- Have the camera IP address, username, and password available.
- Reset the camera to its factory default settings, unless it is managed by an external video management system (VMS) and is being added in read-only mode.
- For Bosch cameras, complete the required preparation procedure before adding the camera to Security Center SaaS.
What you should know
- Cameras must be on the same subnet as the associated Cloudlink appliance.
- Only cameras and firmware versions supported by Security Center SaaS can be added to a Cloudlink appliance. See Security Center SaaS Supported Device list
- For cameras configured for cloud recording, video is stored locally on the appliance to ensure no data is lost during network interruptions, and is synchronized to the cloud when connected. Data loss might occur if data accumulated during the outage exceeds available local storage capacity.
Procedure
- From the Devices page in the Configuration task, click Add device.
- On the Type page, click Camera.
- On the Method page, click Genetec Cloudlink.
- On the Activation page, click Add a local camera manually.
-
On the Configuration page, enter the camera IP address,
credentials, recording profile, and any required camera options..
- Enable Read-only mode if the camera is managed by another video management system.
- Select an existing recording profile or create a new recording profile.
- Click Continue, then click Close.
